The Swan Sangha website is under reconstruction. This is a personal artist page of a student artist who is also a student Buddhist. He is me, and I am That. There are no teachings here. This is not a club or group to join. I have lots of opinions on where to find teachings, if asked, but I am busy looking for them myself.
I published a blog here for about two years. It was called Small Words: Baked Daily. I was extremely serious about it and wrote every day, all day. Nobody read it—not even me. I do not want to write a blog anymore because I rarely read blogs and I would rather spend my time in meditation, studying, talking to people, playing music, and building art. I am a full time university student who is approaching middle age. This takes an awful lot of time, which prevents me from spending much time in solitary retreat. This is as close to retreat as I can do at the moment, so please treat this website as such.
I will try to add new works as soon as I can, though I am busy working on an installation that will be taking up the majority of my time until I present it in June of 2012 (which coincides with graduation). Also, be on the lookout for a new thing that is not a blog but maybe will look like one—Sitting With Scissors—coming soon.
I work in graphite, ink, watercolor, acrylic, oil, encaustic, and any other available material. I am especially fond of printmaking. I also tend a vegetable garden and collect musical instruments that I sometimes also play. Please watch for updates.
Love yourself.

Artist at Law

The law commands us to do what we would do naturally if we only had love. The Way consists of finding that love, which then becomes the law.
—Arnaud Desjardins

I believe that for his escape he took advantage of the migration of a flock of wild birds.
